This article explains how ZDHC Approved wastewater laboratories access the ClearStream module on ZDHC Gateway, what the module includes, and the laboratory's role in the ClearStream process.

01/ Introduction

Wastewater laboratories participate in the ClearStream process starting from Step 3 of the supplier's workflow — the Choose laboratory step. Once a supplier sends a request to your laboratory, it appears in your ClearStream module and requires a response.

All project management for wastewater testing — from receiving requests to submitting results — takes place within the ClearStream module on the Gateway.

02/ How to access the ClearStream module

Wastewater laboratories log in to the ZDHC Gateway in the same way as other organisation types.

1. Log in to ZDHC Gateway.
2. Select your laboratory organisation from the organisation selector.
3. Open the ClearStream module from the main navigation and start managing your requests.

03/ What you will find in the ClearStream module

When you open the ClearStream module, you have access to the following sections from the left-hand menu:

• General Information — an overview of the ClearStream programme, including what it covers and how it works. Useful background, but not required for day-to-day project work.
• My Projects — your main workspace. Shows all active and historical testing projects in a Kanban board view. This is where you will spend most of your time.
• Activity Log — a record of all actions taken in the module, across all projects.

04/ The laboratory's role in the ClearStream workflow

The supplier drives the workflow; however, laboratories play an active role at key stages. As a laboratory, you are responsible for several steps:

1. Responding to testing requests — accepting or declining supplier requests that appear in your My Projects board.
2. Entering sampling information — recording the project number, discharge method, wastewater type, and sampling point details before testing begins.
3. Conducting the physical testing — carrying out wastewater analysis at the supplier's facility.
4. Entering and submitting test results — entering results parameter by parameter on the platform so the supplier can review them. Results are entered directly in the platform; file upload and API submission are in development.

Each of these stages is managed through the My Projects board.

05/ Tips & Notes

Note: Accepting a request is a firm commitment. Once accepted, you cannot cancel. Only accept if you have an agreement with the supplier and can finish testing.

Tip: If you have questions about a supplier's profile before accepting, contact the supplier directly using the contact details shown in the request. All communication with the supplier regarding project details occurs off-platform.
