This article explains how to renew a subscription in ZDHC Gateway before it expires if you already have an active subscription.
01/ Introduction
ZDHC Gateway subscriptions are annual, one-time purchases that do not renew automatically. To keep your subscription active without interruption, you need to start a new subscription before your current one expires. The platform displays a Renew button on the subscriptions overview page when your subscription is within 30 days of its expiry.
Clicking Renew takes you through the same checkout flow as a first-time subscription purchase. A new subscription is created on completion.
02/ Prerequisites
- You must be logged in and have selected your organisation.
- Your current subscription must be active (not already expired or cancelled).
- The Renew button only appears within 30 days of the subscription's expiry date.
03/ Steps
- Go to Subscriptions in your account navigation.
- Find the subscription you want to renew. If it is within 30 days of expiry, a Renew button is displayed in that subscription's row.
- Click Renew. You are taken to the checkout page for that specific subscription product. You do not need to select it again.
- Review the pricing. If your subscription uses tiered or stair-step pricing, the checkout shows the correct pricing tiers, identical to a first-time purchase.
- Complete the checkout. A new subscription is created and becomes active immediately.
- Return to the Subscriptions overview to confirm the new subscription appears.
Tip: If you are a formulator, renewing your subscription does not automatically republish your products. You will need to republish them manually from the product list. See What Happens When Your Subscription Expires for more details.
04/ What Renewal Is Not
- Renewal is not an auto-renew or a Maxio billing portal action. It is a new checkout initiated by you.
- The Maxio Billing Portal (accessible from your account settings) is only for updating payment methods and billing profile details — it cannot be used to renew a subscription.
- If your subscription has already expired, the Renew button will not appear. Contact ZDHC Customer Support Team to discuss resubscribing after expiry.
05/ Tips & Notes
Note: Each subscription row has its own independent Renew button. If you have multiple subscriptions with different expiry dates, each subscription shows or hides the button based on its own expiry date. Check each row individually.
Note: Do not use the Maxio Billing Portal to attempt a renewal. Plan changes are disabled in the portal; all renewals must go through the ZDHC Gateway checkout.
