A globally-accepted, easy-to-read wastewater test report. It helps Suppliers to demonstrate their wastewater performance, according to the ZDHC Wastewater Guidelines.
The wastewater report can be viewed under the WATERDATA tab in the left navigation bar of the ZDHC Gateway. Click here for more information.
All previous wastewater data is also accessible in the WATERDATA tab on the ZDHC Gateway. The overview lists all ZDHC ClearStream reports and wastewater test reports.
You can get a ZDHC ClearStream report by having your facility’s wastewater tested against an applicable ZDHC Wastewater Guideline. This testing can be done by one of our ZDHC Approved Wastewater Laboratories. A list of our Wastewater Laboratories can be found here.
Once you have accepted the wastewater test report that has been uploaded by one of the ZDHC Approved Wastewater Laboratories, you can publish the results in the form of a ZDHC ClearStream report. This makes the test report and ClearStream report accessible to all Brands that you are connected with. Click here to learn more about building connections with Brands.
ZDHC has entrusted several Wastewater Laboratories worldwide with the testing against the ZDHC Wastewater Guidelines. These ZDHC Approved Wastewater Laboratories conduct testing and submit data on behalf of Suppliers to the ZDHC Gateway. The resulting reports of your wastewater performance can be published on the platform.
A list of our Wastewater Laboratories can be found here.
The wastewater testing should only be conducted by one of the ZDHC Approved Wastewater Laboratories.
The wastewater should be tested at intervals of three months twice a year. Please refer to the Wastewater Guidelines V2.0 to learn more about the test cycle. The guidelines can be found here.
Via a questionnaire that is presented to the ZDHC Approved Wastewater Laboratory with questions about the Supplier’s facility, the ZDHC Gateway assigns which parameters should be tested and reported on. If a Wastewater Laboratory has not tested and reported on all assigned parameters, the test results will remain with a status of “Incomplete”. These results will still be shared with Brands through the Test Report data extract, however, no ClearStream will be generated.
Wastewater Laboratories have the ability to use the EDR file to edit and amend already uploaded test results. Using the “Action” column of the EDR file, they can upload new and amended results.
The Wastewater Laboratory should work in partnership with you as the facility to ensure that all answers provided as part of the Custom EDR builder are correct. In the event the Wastewater Laboratory provides an answer that is not reflective of your Facilities’ operations or set-up, this may have an impact on which parameters are necessary to test against. The critical factors that determine this are the discharge type and daily average wastewater generated. For MMCF there is an additional factor which is the material type. For more information about how these factors influence which parameters to test, please refer to the ZDHC Wastewater Guidelines.
Please follow the steps outlined in this article to publish your wastewater test results and the ZDHC ClearStream report on the ZDHC Gateway, thus making the data available to all Brands that you are connected with.
If your ClearStream report shows parameters that do not meet the requirements of the applicable ZDHC Wastewater Guideline, it is recommended to perform corrective actions with a Corrective Action Plan. Suppliers should work with the Wastewater Laboratory together to create a process for managing actual and potential non-conformity or non-compliance. The process should take remedial and preventive actions to eliminate the causes of non-conformance. A template can be found here.
Please refer to Appendix B on the ClearStream report for a detailed breakdown of the scoring logic used for the high-level scores.
Yes. Once results are uploaded, they are placed into Pending status, ready for review. Using the Review Result action, the ClearStream report can be viewed and the result can be either accepted or rejected. If rejected the Wastewater Laboratory is notified and the results are then assigned a Declined status.
The critical factors that determine this are the discharge type and daily average wastewater generated. For MMCF there is an additional factor which is the material type. For more information about how these factors influence which parameters to test, please refer to the ZDHC Wastewater Guidelines.
The Wastewater Reporting Fee is 250€ per year and is active for 12 months from the date of the payment. Throughout the active subscription, more wastewater test reports can be uploaded and it is recommended to at least twice a year in April and October, as outlined in the ZDHC Wastewater Guidelines.
