01/ Introduction

ClearStream is the ZDHC programme for wastewater testing at supplier facilities. Completing ClearStream demonstrates that your facility's wastewater discharge meets the ZDHC Wastewater Guidelines. In the updated ZDHC Gateway, the full ClearStream process is managed within a single guided workflow. The platform guides your facility through each stage in order, so you always know where you are in the process and what to do next. This approach helps avoid errors and simplifies compliance with ZDHC requirements.

02/ The ClearStream process at a glance

The ClearStream workflow consists of seven steps:

1. Begin wastewater testing — review key information and confirm you are ready to start.
2. Determine test type — enter your facility profile to find out whether testing is required and, if so, what must be tested.
3. Choose laboratory — select an approved wastewater testing laboratory from the in-platform directory.
4. Process reporting fee — complete payment for the ClearStream reporting fee on the Gateway.
5. Conduct wastewater testing — the selected laboratory carries out the physical testing at your facility.
6. Review test results — review the results submitted by the laboratory and accept or decline them.
7. ClearStream & next steps — access your ClearStream Report and, if needed, begin a root cause analysis and corrective action plan.

Each step must be completed in order. The platform shows your current progress and highlights the next action required.
