This article explains what happened to your products, certifications, and data during the migration to the relaunched ZDHC Gateway, and what you may need to do after migrating.

01/ Introduction

This article is specifically for users who had products and certifications in the previous version of the ZDHC Gateway before its relaunch. If you are new to the ZDHC Gateway, you can skip this article.

02/ What was migrated

The following data was migrated to the relaunched ZDHC Gateway:

DataMigrated?
All existing chemical productsYes
Existing ZDHC MRSL certificationsYes
Existing Chemicals to Zero certificationsYes
Safety Data Sheets (SDS files)Yes — where available
Product IDsChanged

03/ Product IDs have changed

In the relaunched ZDHC Gateway, all products have been assigned a new standardised ID. Your old PID no longer applies. Use the new product ID when referencing products in communications with certification bodies or ZDHC support.

04/ ZDHC MRSL and Chemicals to Zero are now separate

Each product now has a distinct overview of ZDHC MRSL certifications and a separate overview of Chemicals to Zero certifications. Your existing certifications have been migrated to reflect this separation.

05/ Safety Data Sheets (SDS): what to check

Most Safety Data Sheets were migrated as file uploads. However, in the previous version of the ZDHC Gateway, it was possible to reference an SDS via a URL link rather than uploading a file. URL-based SDS references are no longer supported.

If your product's SDS was a URL in Gateway, it may not have been migrated as a file. In this case:

  • Your product will exist in the ZDHC Gateway without an attached SDS.
  • You can continue to view and manage the product, and it remains in its migrated status.
  • However, you cannot edit the product until you upload a valid SDS file (PDF format, max 10 MB).

To upload a missing SDS, go to the product detail page, click Edit, and upload the PDF file in the Safety Data Sheet section.

Tip: Check your product portfolio after migration and identify any products that may be missing an SDS. You can spot these by attempting to open the edit panel: if the SDS is missing, you will be prompted to upload one before saving.

06/ What you may need to do after migration

Review the following checklist to make sure your migrated products are in order:

  • Check product classifications: from August 2026, a new classification list is in effect. See Product categorisation update: new classification list (August 2026).
  • Upload missing SDS files: for any products that had URL-based SDS references. Only PDF files are accepted.
  • Verify certification body assignments: certification bodies must be explicitly assigned to each product. Review your products to confirm CBs are assigned where needed.
  • Review publish status: confirm that the products you want visible in search are published.
