This article explains what data becomes visible to a connected organisation once a connection is active on the ZDHC Gateway, and which organisation type controls each data type.
01/ Introduction
When two organisations are connected on the ZDHC Gateway, data sharing does not happen automatically. Each data type must be explicitly enabled before the connected organisation can see it.
All sharing is configured per connection. You can share different data with different organisations.
02/ Data types and who controls them
| Badge | Data type | Controlled by | What it includes |
|---|---|---|---|
| CI | Chemical Inventory | Supplier Admin | The Supplier's published chemical product portfolio on the Gateway |
| WW | Wastewater Data | Supplier Admin | ClearStream wastewater test results, including Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Action Plans (CAP) |
03/ What Suppliers share with connected organisations
A Supplier Admin can independently enable or disable two sharing options for each connection, whether that connection is with a brand or a vendor. The same controls and the same data types apply to both.
- Chemical Inventory (CI): the connected organisation can view the Supplier's chemical product portfolio.
- Wastewater Data (WW): the connected organisation can view the Supplier's ClearStream results, including any RCA and CAP data.
Enabling or disabling each option only affects that specific connection. Other connections are not changed.
The connected Brand or Vendor can see which data types are currently being shared, but cannot change those settings.
04/ How Vendors share data with Brands
Vendors share supply chain information with Brands differently — not through the CI/WW badge system described above.
Vendors connect to Suppliers on the Gateway, and can then map those suppliers to specific brand connections. This controls which Suppliers are visible in the transparency reports that Vendors generate for Brands.
This is managed through the Vendor Module, not through the connection details drawer.
05/ What is never shared
The following data is never shared with a connected organisation, regardless of sharing settings:
- Internal notes or comments your organisation has added to a connection
- Labels you have applied to a connection (labels are private to your organisation)
- User account details or team member information
