01/ Introduction
Formulators can generate unique QR codes on the ZDHC Gateway for their published chemical products. These QR codes are printed on product barrels or packaging and allow suppliers to instantly access key product information with a quick scan.
This feature helps suppliers:
Quickly verify ZDHC MRSL Conformance and product details.
Save time during chemical receiving and verification.
Reduce manual data entry by easily confirming product identity.
Improve supply chain transparency and compliance.
Although the use of QR codes is not mandatory for formulators, ZDHC encourages them to adopt this feature, making it easier for suppliers to identify, verify, and manage products confidently and efficiently.
02/ How to View Product Information via QR Code
First, please locate the QR code on the product. You’ll find the QR code printed on the product barrel, container, or packaging.
Use the camera app on your smartphone or tablet to scan the QR code.
- Most modern devices can automatically detect and open the link when a QR code is scanned.
- Alternatively, you can use any free QR code scanning app.
After scanning, your device will open a public product summary page.
This page displays key product details, such as:- Identification and status: Product Name, PID, Status, Expiration Date
- ZDHC Conformance information: ZDHC MRSL Conformance Level, Chemicals to Zero Level
- Other key details: Substrate, Use Category, Use Type
The product’s current status (e.g. active, expired) will be clearly displayed.
If the product status shows as expired, you can request a re-certification directly from the same page. Simply, click Request re-certification, enter your contact details and click Send. This will notify the formulator that a re-certification request has been made.
To view the product’s full data and documentation, log into your ZDHC Gateway account and search for the product by name or PID.
