What should I prepare before applying?

Before your organisation applies to become a ZDHC Approved Training Provider, we strongly encourage you to:

  • Familiarise yourself with the ZDHC Roadmap to Zero Programme and ZDHC Academy
  • Read more about the application criteria and procedure here
  • Reflect on motivations, goals, and aspirations for becoming an Approved Training Provider
  • Think about which trainer(s) you would like to nominate in this application and for which training topics.

Do I need to nominate all the trainers when submitting an application?

No, you are not expected to nominate all trainers in the initial application. As business environments and priorities may change, the option to expand the number of trainers in your portfolio remains open.

Who should I nominate to be a trainer?

Nominate one Global Head Trainer, and up to 5 individual trainers at no cost. If you would like to nominate more than 5 trainers, learn about our fee structure here.

The Global Head Trainer will be:

  • Primary contact person for ZDHC on technical issues
  • Responsible for maintaining the quality of the trainers within the organisation
  • Provides their local trainers with any updates in case there are changes to the ZDHC training materials
  • Can also deliver trainings if they meet the trainer criteria

Who can be an individual trainer?

Individual trainer(s) you would like to nominate must meet both:

  • General requirements and
  • Specialist knowledge & experience requirements

Learn more about this at: Application Criteria

Please note the following:

  • Your organisation may nominate as many individual trainers as you wish in the initial application. If you nominate more than 5 individual trainers, there will be an additional fee
  • You do not have to nominate all your trainers in the initial application.
  • Your organisation may nominate each trainer to one or more speciality categories.
  • We may expand to other knowledge specialities based on the industry and market trends

Is there anything I need to do after submitting the application?

Yes, once you submit and pay for the application, please contact training@zdhc.org and our team will review your application.

In the application procedure, you mentioned that the ZDHC Academy Team will set up a call with the applicant. What is the intention of this call?

After the initial review of the ATP application, ZDHC Academy will set up an online meeting to discuss your application. The intention of this call is:

  • For both parties to get to know each other
  • For ZDHC Academy to clarify any outstanding questions
  • To allow you to understand more about the next steps, pro bono training and the expectations
  • To discuss your wishes and explore ways we can collaborate

What is the Pro Bono training and skills assessment?

Once your initial application has been approved, nominated trainers are expected to demonstrate their training skills in a pro-bono training.

The skill-based assessment via pro bono training aims to determine whether the nominated trainers have the proper skill set and knowledge to conduct effective training.

The pro bono can be arranged as an online- or in person training, as agreed upon by both you and ZDHC.

Based on the trainer’s performance, you will receive a decision on your application.

You can read more about this here

We have additional questions about the application procedure and pro bono training. Can we contact ZDHC Academy?

For all questions, please contact training@zdhc.org

Is the application fee refundable even if we decide to withdraw the application?

The application fee is non-refundable under all circumstances, regardless of the application's outcome or if your organisation decides to withdraw it.

Will I get an opportunity to work on my application again if I do not receive approval initially?

If your application has been rejected, you may appeal this decision by addressing your concerns via email.

  • In case the training provider or an individual trainer is not approved, they get the opportunity to implement a corrective action plan based on the feedback and organise either a new pro bono training or a video assessment
  • The re-assessment criteria remains the same as the initial criteria, however the assessor will pay attention to the area of improvement pointed out in the feedback.
  • Based on the evaluation of this re-assessment, the ZDHC Academy Team will make the final decision with one of the following outcomes:
    • Training Provider is approved, and all nominated trainers are approved in the same application
    • Training Provider is approved, but not all nominated trainers are approved in the same application
    • Training Provider is not approved, and none of the nominated trainers are approved
  • If the ZDHC Academy does not (fully) approve the re-assessment, there will be no possibility of appealing this decision.

What do I need to do after being approved?

You need to sign the relevant documents, pay the annual fee, and you will formally be an Approved Training Provider.

The organisation must also ensure that all approved individual trainers attend the appropriate onboarding and train-the-trainers sessions organised by the ZDHC Academy Team.
