Sustainable chemical management
To qualify as specialist trainers, applicants must meet either the degree–level or non–degree–level criteria outlined for their relevant area.
Textile Specialist
Applicants with a Degree Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental science, Textile engineering, Textile chemistry, General chemistry or equivalent degree
- At least 5 years of experience in one of the following areas:
- Working at textile manufacturing facilities as a chemical manager or a sustainability manager
OR
- Delivering chemical management and environmental health & safety audits or consultancy projects to various textile factories.
Applicants with a Non-Degree Education
- Completed a vocational training in Textile manufacturing, Textile engineering or Textile Chemistry
- At least 8 years of experience in one of the following areas:
- Working at textile manufacturing facilities as a chemical manager or sustainability manager
- Delivering chemical management and environmental health & safety audits or consultancy projects to various textile factories
Denim Specialist
Applicants with a Degree Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental science, Textile engineering, Textile chemistry, General chemistry or equivalent degree
- At least 5 years of experience in one of the following areas:
- Working at a denim manufacturing facility as a chemical manager or sustainability manager
OR
- Delivering chemical management and environmental health & safety audits or consultancy projects to various textile factories, including denim factories
Applicants with a Non-Degree Education
- Completed a vocational training in Textile manufacturing, Textile engineering or Textile Chemistry
- At least 8 years of experience in one of the following areas:
- Working at denim manufacturing facilities as a chemical manager or sustainability manager
- Delivering chemical management and environmental health & safety audits or consultancy projects to various textile factories, including denim factories.
MMCF Specialist
Applicants with a Degree Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental science, Textile engineering, Textile chemistry, General chemistry or equivalent degree
- At least 5 years of experience in one of the following areas:
- Working at textile manufacturing facilities involving the use of MMCF in the capacity of a chemical manager or sustainability manager
OR
- Delivering chemical management and environmental health & safety audits or consultancy projects to various textile factories, including MMCF manufacturers or factories using MMCF
Applicants with a Non-Degree Education
- Completed a vocational training in Textile manufacturing, Textile engineering or Textile Chemistry
- At least 8 years of experience in one of the following areas:
- Working at textile manufacturing facilities involving the use of MCCF in the capacity of chemical manager or sustainability manager
- Delivering chemical management and environmental health & safety audits or consultancy projects to various textile factories, including MMCF manufacturers or factories using MMCF
Leather Specialist
Applicants with a Degree Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental science, Textile engineering, Textile chemistry, General chemistry or equivalent degree
- At least 5 years of experience in one of the following areas:
- Working at leather manufacturing facilities in the capacity of a chemical manager or sustainability manager
OR
- Delivering chemical management and environmental health & safety audits or consultancy projects to a range of leather factories
Applicants with a Non-Degree Education
- Completed a vocational training in leather manufacturing or leather chemistry
- At least 8 years of experience in one of the following areas:
- Working at leather manufacturing facilities in the capacity of chemical manager or sustainability manager
- Delivering chemical management and environmental health & safety audits or consultancy projects to a range of leather factories
Footwear Specialist
Applicants with a Degree Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental science, Textile engineering, Textile chemistry, General chemistry or equivalent degree
- At least 5 years of experience in one of the following areas:
- Working at footwear manufacturing facilities in the capacity of a chemical manager or sustainability manager
OR
- Delivering chemical management and environmental health & safety audits or consultancy projects to a range of footwear factories
Applicants with a Non-Degree Education
- Completed a vocational training in footwear manufacturing or chemical management
- At least 8 years of experience in one of the following areas:
- Working at footwear manufacturing facilities in the capacity of chemical manager or sustainability manager
- Delivering chemical management and environmental health & safety audits or consultancy projects to a range of footwear factories
- The trainer should be a ZDHC Approved trainer, or apply to become a ZDHC trainer
- Good working knowledge of climate change-related topics (e.g., GHG accounting, renewable energy, energy management or energy efficiency, resource efficiency) is mandatory
- Experience working at the factory level is mandatory
- English and local language proficiency
- Experience in the field of textile engineering and environmental management and work experience with textile and garment suppliers would be advantageous
- Working experience with Higg FEM or Higg FEM verifier/training would be advantageous
