Who can be a ZDHC Signatory Approved Training Provider?
Organisations that wish to deliver ZDHC trainings that focus on sustainable chemical management in the textile, apparel, footwear, and leather industries can apply to become a ZDHC Approved Training Provider.
In order to provide ZDHC trainings, your organisation is expected to meet both the organisational and individual trainer requirements.
Application Criteria
Organisational Requirements
The organisation should:
- Demonstrate training experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Textile, apparel, footwear and leather goods manufacturing
- Chemical management
- Wastewater treatment plant operations
- Environmental management
- Resource Efficiency & Climate Action
- Have 3 years of proven track record in organising training sessions.
- Maintain a stable base of trainers who can reliably deliver training sessions in countries of its choice in the local language. (If they are unable to deliver the training, qualified back-up trainers should be arranged.)
- Ensure a code of conduct and an anti-bribery policy are in place for all employees and contractors.
- Have an enforceable policy on customer complaints and grievances
- Implement a system to train and upgrade the technical and soft skills of their trainers
- Possess professional liability insurance that covers organisation’s business and operational needs.
- Nominate one (1) trainer to serve as the Global Head Trainer. This nominee is not required to be a trainer, and will also be responsible for activities other than carrying out trainings.
- Having an Education Organisation management system with accreditations is an additional bonus. For example:
- ISO 9001 - Quality Management Systems
- ISO 21001 - Education Organisations - Management Systems for Educational Organisation
- ISO 29993 - Learning Services Outside Formal Education
- While not required, referencing or incorporating ZDHC platforms and solutions into their services is advantageous. For example, a ZDHC Approved Wastewater Laboratory, a ZDHC Approved MRSL Certifier or a ZDHC Approved InCheck Verifier, etc
Upon receiving approval, the organisation must ensure that the Approved Trainers attend the appropriate onboarding and subsequent train-the-trainers sessions organised by the ZDHC Academy Team.
Individual Requirements
The individual trainer(s) you would like to nominate must meet both of the following:
- General requirements
- The trainer must have at least 60 hours of experience within the past 3 years to deliver training in the subject matter area for which they are nominated. This can be:
- Class room training: Formal or virtual
- On-the-ground training at manufacturing facilities
- University lecturing and teaching
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Communicative, interactive, and strong presentation skills
- Actively share practical skills in discussions and be able to host interactive sessions
Along with the general requirements, the trainer is expected to display specific knowledge and experience on the training topics they wish to deliver.
