There are two ways to remove a file from a question:
1. From the File Uploads Overview
In the file uploads overview table, you'll see:
- Column headers:
- "Filename" showing the document name
- "File used as evidence in question" showing where files are used
- For files linked to questions:
- The question name appears as a blue link (e.g., "Written chemical management policy")
- A red "REMOVE FILE FROM QUESTION" button appears next to each linked question
- Multiple questions may be listed if the file is used in several places
- For unused files:
- The text "This file is not used as evidence for questions" appears
2. Directly from the Question
Within individual questions, you can remove files in the "Available files" section:
- Each file appears in a list with:
- A blue checkmark icon on the left for selection
- The filename in the middle
- A red bin (trash) icon on the right for removal
- Click the red bin icon to remove the file from the question
Note: The file first needs to be removed from all questions before it can be deleted from the system entirely. Follow these steps:
- Remove the file from each question where it's used (using either method above)
- Wait for the status to update to "This file is not used as evidence for questions"
- Only then can you proceed with deleting the file completely
