This guide will show you how to upload and publish multiple chemical products.
By making products public, chemical formulators can demonstrate their conformance against ZDHC MRSL. Please note that your customers or potential customers (Supplier and Brand users) can only view public products.
01 / Uploading multiple products
- Click Products on the left navigation pane.
- Click
to upload in bulk.
- Click DOWNLOAD to download the bulk product template.
- Fill out the template. An explanation of all fields can be found below.
Note: Required fields are marked with an asterisk (*). - Upload your data in the Product List Upload and the File Attachments Upload.
Note: You can upload your data through drag & drop or by choosing a file. - Click NEXT.
- Review the details of your data.
Note: If the system recognizes an error in your bulk upload file, error fields will be highlighted in red. - Correct all errors, if applicable.
- Make sure the file name of your Certificate and SDS is same with the uploaded file.
- Make sure you include “.pdf” at the end of your file name.
- Click SAVE.
A notification pops up at the top of the page.

The PRODUCTS page shows the bulk upload made.
Note: All uploaded products’ status is Pending, once checked, the status changes to Active.

Note: Only active products can be published.
02 / Uploading multiple products
Formulator: Please add the name of the chemical formulator of this product (make sure that the organization name exactly matches the name that is registered in ZDHC Gateway).
Formulation (Product) Name: Please add the name of the product you are uploading in English. This should be the same name as the one on the certificate and/or SDS.
Other name: Add the alternative name of the product.
Product Code: Please add the specific code of the chemical product.
Substrate: Please select the type of substrate from the list.
Use Category: Please select the use category/categories (e.g. dyes and pigments)
Use Type: Please select the use type/s of the product (e.g. the type of dye)
Description: Use this field to give more information or attach files related to the description that is shared in the ChemCheck Description field
Certification Types: Please select the type of product verification that is available for this product (if the product is third-party certified, a SDS is not needed).
Third Party Review Certifying Body: If the product is certified by one of our ZDHC Approved MRSL Certifiers (e.g. GOTS, bluesign) please select this here.
MRSL Version: Please select the current MRSL version (at this point: ZDHC MRSL v2.0).
Issue Date: Please add the date the SDS has been issued.
Expiration Date: Please add the expiration date of the SDS.
Third Party Review Certification Attachment Name (pdf only): Please add the name of the pdf file that you will upload in a later step. If the name differs an error occurs.
Certification Result: Please add the certification results.
SDS Language: Please select the language that the SDS has been created in. The SDS version you upload should be in English. Note: if the product is third-party verified, an additional SDS is not required.
SDS Version Number: Please add only if this SDS has a version number.
Standard: Select the SDS standard that is being applied.
Effective Date: Please add the date in DD-MM-YYYY format.
SDS Attachment Name (pdf only): Please add the name of the pdf file that you will upload in a later step. If the name differs an error occurs.
SDS Link: Please provide either a pdf or a link to the SDS. In case your SDS is a PDF, you won’t have to add any information here.
SDS Link Instructions: This is for Formulators to provide instructions to their Suppliers. E.g. additional details on how they can download the SDS.
Country: This field can only accommodate one country, but you can add multiple countries when you edit the Product details
ChemCheck Description: Please add a brief product description which will be displayed in the ChemCheck report. Use the description field below to give more information or attach files.
03 / Checking the declination reason of a declined product
A product can also be declined for different possible reasons. One example would be that a wrong file type has been uploaded.
To view the declination reason, follow the steps below.
- Click a declined product’s name.
Note: A declined product has an inactive status. - Hover to the SAFETY DATA SHEET or TECHNICAL DATA SHEET.
- Hover to Data Sheet’s status.
- Click Declined.
- View declined reason.
Note: If your product has been on pending status for too long, contact the certification body to learn about the reason.
