Who can be an ZDHC Signatory Approved MRSL Certifier?
Both, Certification Body and Certification Standard can be approved as ZDHC Signatory MRSL Certifiers: please refer to the Glossary for definitions.

In order to apply for acceptance as a ZDHC MRSL Certifiers for Level 1, the applicant organisation shall fulfill the following requirements:
- Own and ISO 17025 certification including in the scope all MRSL parameters, even in a different kind of matrix
- Test Method indicated in ZDHC reference documents or an equivalent method shall be used*
- Not more than 60% of parameters as listed in the platform are subcontracted
The outsourced laboratory may be an affiliate of, or external to, the laboratory requesting the approval for testing.
An equivalent method is defined by ZDHC as a similar analytical method which has similar detection limit with acceptable uncertainty of measurements and reproducibility and reliability as given by the suggested method. The laboratory has to share with ZDHC relevant information to assess the equivalence. The aim is that data from one laboratory can be compared directly and equivalently to any other laboratory in the ZDHC program.
In order to apply for acceptance as a ZDHC MRSL Certifiers for Level 2 and 3, the organisation must verify at the formulator facility requirements listed in the ZDHC Conformance Guidance 2.1
Please note in certain situations, ZDHC may request additional information and documentation or carry out specific evaluations, which may include derogations on certain requirements or acceptance of equivalent quality assurance criteria, to grant a fair, consistent, high-quality implementation of the Roadmap to Zero Programme on a global scale. If any extra fees are associated with this evaluation, the organisation will receive advance notice.
