Knowledge base

Input material traceability is the ability to track finished products back to their input materials and suppliers. This ensures transparency, supports regulatory/customer compliance, and enables effective Root Cause Analysis (RCA) in case of non-conformities. Digital tools like Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, barcodes or QR codes can strengthen traceability.

For example, if a fabric fails restricted substance testing, traceability helps identify which input batch and supplier caused the issue, allowing corrective and preventive action.
