Knowledge base

The on-site ETP assessment exercise supports suppliers to:

  • Evaluate their ETP management practices and ensure that their wastewater discharge performance meets, at a minimum, the ZDHC conventional parameters foundational limit values consistently.
  • Plan investments and implement improvements in their ETP design and efficiency based on non-conformance areas identified during the on-site assessment.
  • Optimise their chemical consumption and reduce costs.

The ETP Assessment Protocol supports brands to:

  • Ensure that a supplier's ClearStream Reports results are credible and that the facility is  treating their wastewater with proper controls and is expected to achieve, at a minimum, the ZDHC conventional parameter foundational limit values.
  • Support facilities within their supply chain to implement a Corrective Action Plan (CAP) within mutually agreed timeframes, in order to improve on non-conformances identified during the assessment. This will ensure  that the facility consistently meets the ZDHC conventional parameters foundational limit values.
