There are three different programme levels in Supplier to Zero:
Level 1
This level is based on the principles of the ZDHC Chemical Management System (CMS) Framework. With the content related to Minimum Requirements, facilities demonstrate their awareness of ZDHC sustainable chemical management and how to implement ZDHC Solutions. For each recommended improvement, facilities get insights into the investments and timelines.
Level 2
This level allows facilities to demonstrate continuous improvement. It includes additional content and supports facilities' efforts by offering more profound insights into industry best practices and optimal techniques. From Level 2 onwards, facilities must provide evidence of successful chemical management implementations and using ZDHC tools for continuous improvement.
Level 3
This level equips facilities to position themselves as a leader in tackling the use of hazardous chemicals. Earning this status allows you to demonstrate performance in sustainable chemical management. At Level 3, you can further reduce risk and help to drive transparency across the value chain.
Effective June 2023, some of the terminology is changed to align with the 2030 Impact Strategy. Certification levels within Supplier to Zero for non-signatory suppliers terminology has changed from Foundational, Progressive, and Aspirational Level to Supplier to Zero Levels 1, 2, and 3.
