After completing and submitting your self-assessment, you can choose to have your assessment independently assessed through a third-party desktop or on-site assessment if you have achieved at least Level 1.

The third-party assessment process follows these steps:

  1. Choose your assessment type. Select either a third-party desktop assessment or a third-party on-site assessment.

  2. Prepare your evidence. Review the Evidence Checklist and prepare the supporting documents required for the assessment. Complete this step on the Supplier Platform to proceed. You do not have to upload any documents to the platform.

  3. Find a Solution Provider. Select “Find a Solution Provider” on the Supplier Platform. You will be taken to the “Select Solution Provider” page, where you can view the companies approved to conduct Supplier to Zero assessments.

  4. Contact the Approved Solution Provider. To view further information about an Approved Solution Provider, including their contact details and website, select “Create Handshake” for that provider. Use these details to contact the Solution Provider directly outside the Supplier Platform and agree on the scope, timing, costs and other terms of the third-party assessment. You might also want to arrange a verified InCheck as part of the same assessment.

  5. Formalise your request on the Supplier Platform. Do not send the handshake request until the assessment has been agreed with the Solution Provider. Once the terms have been agreed, log back into the Supplier Platform and select “Create Handshake” to formally send the request to the chosen Approved Solution Provider.

  6. Wait for the Solution Provider to confirm the assessment. The Solution Provider assigns the assessor and confirms the assessment from their side, allowing the third-party assessment to proceed.

  7. Provide your evidence. The assigned assessor will have access to your completed Supplier Profile and Supplier to Zero self-assessment. You should also provide the assessor with the relevant supporting evidence required to conduct the assessment.

  8. Complete the third-party assessment. The ZDHC Approved Supplier to Zero Assessor conducts the desktop or on-site assessment. No action is required from you on the Supplier Platform during this step.

  9. Review the assessment report. Once the assessment is complete, review the assessment report on the Supplier Platform.

  10. Download your certificate. Once the assessment process is complete, you can download your Supplier to Zero certificate from the Supplier Platform if you have achieved at least Level 1.
