Supplier to Zero V2 introduces several important improvements to better support suppliers in implementing and demonstrating sustainable chemical management.
The key changes include:
Alignment with the Suppliers Roadmap to Zero (SRtZ): The assessment framework is now fully aligned with the SRtZ guidance and structured around the three focus areas of Input, Process and Output. This creates a clearer connection between the implementation guidance and the assessment requirements.
Performance-based levels: In Version 1, the assessment levels reflected the type of assurance (e.g. self-assessment or third-party review). In Version 2, the three StZ levels represent supplier performance and implementation maturity. The assessment type is communicated separately on the certificate.
Expanded assessment options: Version 2 introduces three assessment types, allowing suppliers to progressively increase the level of assurance. In addition to the existing self-assessment and third-party desktop review, suppliers will also be able to undertake third-party on-site assessments. The third-party on-site assessment is a new option and provides the highest level of confidence by combining document review with direct verification of implementation at the facility.
More relevant facility-specific requirements: The applicability of requirements is determined through the Supplier Profile. Suppliers are therefore assessed only against requirements relevant to their operations.
New platform: Suppliers must access the new Supplier Platform to complete their assessment.
Suppliers with a valid Supplier to Zero V1 certificate can continue to use it until it expires. At their next renewal, they should transition to Supplier to Zero V2.
