The testing and reporting requirements for wastewater parameters vary based on the facility’s discharge type. The applicability is as follows:
1. Direct Discharge Facilities
Facilities that discharge treated wastewater directly into the environment (e.g., sea or other water bodies) must test and report all conventional and anion parameters, heavy metals, and load-based wastewater parameters as defined in the ZDHC MMCF Guidelines V3.0.
2. Indirect Discharge Facilities
Facilities that send treated wastewater to a central effluent treatment plant (CETP) must sample and report five heavy metals (copper, lead, nickel, zinc, total chromium), as specified in the guidelines.
3. Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) Facilities
Facilities operating on a ZLD system, where no wastewater is discharged into the environment or external systems, are exempt from wastewater parameter testing.
