Please refer to ZDHC Wastewater Guidelines Version 2.1 and to Sampling and ZDHC Wastewater and Sludge Laboratory Sampling and Analysis Plan Version 2.1.
In order to apply for acceptance as a ZDHC Wastewater Testing Laboratory, the applicant laboratory must request acceptance for all of the parameters listed on the ZDHC Wastewater Guideline. Additionally, the following is required:
- ISO 17025 certification for all MRSL parameters, even in a different kind of matrix
-
Test Method indicated in ZDHC reference documents or an equivalent method shall be used*, with the exception of Colour and COD
- ZDHC Approved Test methods shall be used or an equivalent method*, with the exception of Colour and COD
- Follow/Apply the ZDHC Wastewater and Sludge Laboratory Sampling and Analysis Plan
- Not more than 60% of parameters for wastewater as listed in the platform could be subcontracted
The outsourced laboratory may be an affiliate of, or external to, the laboratory requesting the approval for testing.
*An equivalent method is defined by ZDHC as a similar analytical method which has similar detection limit with acceptable uncertainty of measurements and reproducibility and reliability as given by the suggested method. The laboratory has to share with ZDHC relevant information to assess the equivalence. The aim is that data from one laboratory can be compared directly and equivalently to any other laboratory in the ZDHC program
Please note in certain situations, ZDHC may request additional information and documentation or carry out specific evaluations, which may include derogations on certain requirements or acceptance of equivalent quality assurance criteria, to grant a fair, consistent, high-quality implementation of the Roadmap to Zero Programme on a global scale. If any extra fees are associated with this evaluation, the laboratory will receive advance notice.
