Knowledge base

The ZDHC MRSL Candidate List includes high-priority chemical substances which are:

  1. Lacking viable, safer, or widely/readily available alternative chemicals or processes.
  2. Not enough information on the proposed substances (missing tox data or amounts currently found in formulations etc.)

The aim of creating the ZDHC MRSL Candidate List is to highlight the need and encourage innovations of alternatives in the industry.

It is expected that the ZDHC MRSL Candidate List substances may go to the main ZDHC MRSL Main List in the next update and thus suppliers and formulators are expected to work towards eliminating or substituting its use in this time-frame. Therefore, it can be considered as a cool down period for industries to work towards their phase-outs.
