This article explains who can find ChemCheck products in search, what results are shown to each organisation type, and what affects product visibility.
01/ Introduction
When a chemical formulator publishes a product, it becomes visible to other organisations through the ZDHC Gateway's search functionality. What a user finds in search depends on their own organisation type.
02/ Who can search for chemical products?
All organisation types can search for chemical products on the ZDHC Gateway. This includes suppliers, brands, vendors, and chemical formulators themselves. However, the results each organisation type sees are different.
03/ What each organisation type sees in search
| Organisation type | What they can find |
|---|---|
| Chemical Formulator | Only their own products across all statuses (Draft, Under Review, Accepted, Declined, Published). Other formulators' products are never visible, regardless of status. |
| All other organisation types (Supplier, Brand, Vendor, etc.) | Only published products from any chemical formulator. Products in Draft, Under Review, Accepted, or Declined status are not visible to them. |
Note: A product must be both Accepted and Published before it is visible to anyone other than the formulator who created it. Accepted products that have not yet been published are not shown in the search.
04/ Multiple formulator accounts
A single user can have access to multiple chemical formulator organisations. When searching for products, the results shown are always scoped to the organisation you are currently working in, not across all your organisations.
If you are looking for a product from a different formulator organisation you have access to, you need to go back to the organisation selection screen and switch to that organisation first.
Tip: Check the organisation name shown at the top of the screen to confirm which account you are currently working in before searching.
05/ What makes a product visible in search?
For a product to appear in search for Suppliers, Brands, and other non-formulator organisations, the following conditions must be met:
- The product has been accepted by at least one certification body.
- The formulator has published the product by toggling the publish option on the product detail page.
If either condition is not met, the product will not appear in search for any user outside the formulating organisation.
