While all chemicals delivered or used in a facility are in the scope of the ZDHC MRSL, there are challenges to demonstrate the conformance of certain types of chemicals (such as utility or commodity chemicals) using the ZDHC Gateway - Chemical Module database, since a business model for engaging these chemical formulators on the ZDHC Gateway needs to be developed.

Therefore, the Performance InCheck focuses on chemical products directly used in production and wastewater treatment processes. Chemicals not directly applied or used in operations, such as those used for utility operations (boilers/generators), general facility/equipment maintenance (lubrication of facility equipment or tools, pest control or floor cleaning chemicals), and laboratory chemicals, are not in the scope of the Performance InCheck Report.

Comodity chemicals (used in production or wastewater treatment processes) are also excluded from the scope of the Performance InCheck Report.

List of commodity chemicals in scope

ZDHC is working on a business model to enlist commodity chemicals manufacturers/products in the ZDHC Gateway Chemical Module. Commodity chemicals will be included in the scope of the Performance InCheck Report once this model is developed.
